Comfrey root powder is intended strictly for external application due to the presence of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), though traditionally it was used as a vegetable. Topically, its high concentration of allantoin and mucilage promotes rapid healing of sprains, fractures, and bruises by stimulating cell regeneration and reducing inflammation. It acts as a powerful soothing agent. Health authorities recommend only short-term use on unbroken skin; internal consumption is not recommended.
Comfrey Root Powder Nutritional Content: Comfrey root powder offers negligible dietary nutrition and not recommended for internal consumption. Its composition is primarily non-nutritive, focusing on the therapeutic compound allantoin and high concentrations of plant mucilage, which is a type of soluble fiber that provides a gel-like consistency when mixed with water. The root contains only trace amounts of minerals like calcium and potassium, but these levels are nutritionally insignificant. The focus is purely on its topical applications, as internal use carries risks of liver toxicity.

Shelf Life: Our products will maintain their freshness and integrity for up to 18 months after purchase in our sealed bags or 6-9 months after seal is broken. Customers should store products in a cool dark place to ensure full shelf-life. Bulk products are sourced on a weekly basis to ensure our supply is always fresh.
Packaging: Orders of 10 or more of a single item or 10lbs or more of a single item will be packaged in a food grade bag with twist tie. Bulk capsules do not apply.
