Black cohosh root is primarily used to help reduce symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. The herb is believed to work through interactions with the body's opioid and serotonin systems in the brain rather than acting as a traditional estrogen replacement, offering a non-hormonal alternative for women. Some in vitro and animal studies have also investigated its potential in promoting prostate health in men but more research is needed in this area.
Black cohosh root nutritional content: Black cohosh root cut and sifted is valued for its medicinal bioactive compounds rather than for conventional nutritional content like calories, protein, or typical vitamins. Its "nutritional value" is rooted in key phytochemicals, notably triterpene glycosides (such as actein and cimicifugoside), various aromatic acids (like caffeic and ferulic acids), and some resins and starches. This root primarily provides trace minerals and negligible amounts of fats, carbohydrates, or fiber.

Shelf Life: Our products will maintain their freshness and integrity for up to 18 months after purchase in our sealed bags or 6-9 months after seal is broken. Customers should store products in a cool dark place to ensure full shelf-life. Bulk products are sourced on a weekly basis to ensure our supply is always fresh.
Packaging: Orders of 10 or more of a single item or 10lbs or more of a single item will be packaged in a food grade bag with twist tie. Bulk capsules do not apply.
